Earth Day Tokyo was a crazy affair! It was like all the Japanese hippies converged in Yoyogi Park. So crowded! The weather was perfect, though, and we enjoyed seeing the many booths. Mostly, they sold organic foods and clothing, etc. It was definitely a vegan lover's delight too; I bought so many vegan pastries that day. (Though to be honest, more than half of them were nasty.) You couldn't just buy the food either; you first had to line up to get a set of reusable dishware (chopsticks, bowl, plate, and cup), and only then could you go from food stand to food stand. I found this out the hard way when I tried to buy a cup of carrot juice but did not have a cup.

Kids were making the most gorgeous candles!
I thought this was funny because Dan got the biggest bowl of random meats -- sausage and fatty pork. It was a sharp contradiction to all the other food being served at Earth Day, but I guess maybe it was hormone-free, grass-fed pork or something. Trust Dan to find the big bowl of meat. :P
